Odd shape spaces in your home can sometimes be difficult to utilize with furniture bought from a store, the result often is that you end up only using part of the space.

Unusual sizes and unusually angled walls can seem to be challenging when trying to make the utmost use of a valuable space, furniture manufacturers make furniture for the masses and use popular sizes that most people can accommodate in in the majority of homes.

But what happens when you have a space that is a little out of the ordinary, maybe an angled wall or the sizes that just won’t work for what you hope to achieve? Well that’s the time to get creative,
instead of being content with using part of the space be greedy and use all of it with custom built-in furniture

Built in furniture is uncompromising it has no boundaries and can make a statement about yourself. You get what precisely what you want and not whats on offer to you and everyone else. Not only do you remove any constraints but it’s a fantastic way of introducing fun and creative ideas completely unique to your own home.

Using complementing materials to give texture and create an ecliptic effect, adding lighting and displaying new and objects that you already have highlights your own personality, whatever you build can be as functional as you want and aseptically pleasing as your mind will allow.

The Ultimate Picnic Table

Posted in Cabinetry & carpentry, Carpentry & Wood Design, D I Y, Home makeover, Uncategorized, architecture, cabinetry, carpentry, construction, design, woodwork at 1:14 am by Administrator

With summer here and school out memories of the previous winters snow are all but faded for many of us ,this is the time of year that people start thinking about outdoor entertaining.
The emphasis shifts from scarves & boots to bikinis, ice cream, barbecues,& outdoor parties.
Whether throwing a party for friends or throwing some wings on the family grill, it’s great to have somewhere to eat, talk & keep sheltered from the sun without looking like a sumo wrestler in sauna.

Here in South Florida the sun is about as fierce as anywhere you will find so good shelter is as important as the good food consumed under it.

As a family we love being outside as much as we can so building something in our garden where we could breakfast, lunch & dine all year around was a just the most natural thing to do.

So I set about building a table area that was practical enough for our needs, but also big enough to entertain friends & family and keep the higher summer sun from spoiling the enjoyment of eating. All without damaging our pocket book.
Added lighting and power for nightime dining and breakfast coffee gives us all the versatility we require.
Total cost of materials ran us about $900.00 which I think is money well spent for the amount of use we get out of it and it looks great too!
